During the last Holocaust memorial/museum field trip through Poland with the DFG-project Filmikonen (Filmuniversität Babelsberg) last week, spanning from Auschwitz (Birkenau Memorial) via Krakow to Lublin (Majdanek Memorial), Warsaw (POLIN and JIN) and eventually the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk some new ideas emerged around the problem of identifying archival materials by museums curators. Here start the first steps of implementing a make-shift solution.
